We Love Charities

Susan G. Komen For The Cure

"Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, the global leader of the breast cancer movement, having invested more than $1.9 billion since inception in 1982. As the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists, we’re working together to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® and the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure®, and generous contributions from our partners, sponsors and fellow supporters, we have become the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world."

Treehouse For Kids

"Our six core programs – Tutoring, Educational Advocacy, College and Career Planning, Little Wishes, Summer Camp and the Wearhouse – give foster children a real childhood as well as hope for the future. Treehouse programs offer kids in foster care what all children so desperately need: a safe place to dream.

Since 1988, Treehouse has filled the gaps for kids in foster care, providing services that no other agency addresses: money for extra-curricular activities and summer camp, professional educational support services, resources to fully participate in the everyday activities of growing up, clothing and supplies to help them fit in at school."

Sunflower Children

"Who we are: Sunflower Children is an international family of local and non-governmental humanitarian aid organizations providing survival and developmental care for our neediest children throughout the world.

How we aid: Sunflower’s survival and developmental efforts encompass medical, nutritional, psychological, educational and humanitarian support that nurture survival, health, growth and hope for orphaned, disabled, abandoned, refugee and impoverished children."

The Red Cross

"The American Red Cross saves lives. When disaster strikes, we respond with food, shelter and hope. When barriers of distance, language or warfare separate loved ones, we open lines of communication. When families, co-workers and communities must prepare for emergencies, we help them take action.

Each year in our community, we bring together 2,500 people to care for their neighbors, train 100,000 people in life-saving skills and respond to a disaster about once every other day. In emergencies larg and small - a house fire, an earthquake, a flood - right here in our community or on distant shores, people can count on the Red Cross."

Peace Winds

"Vision: Peace Winds America (PWA) envisions a world where natural disasters pose a minimal threat to the safety, security and livelihood of people living in the Asia Pacific. Our core belief is that disaster response begins with preparedness, and that both disaster preparedness and response should integrate the efforts of governments, militaries, NGOs and the private sector.

Mission: To reduce the high human, economic an political costs of natural disasters in the Asia Pacific. We improve preparedness and response through capacity-building, collaboration and coordination to create a more integrated disaster response."

Plymouth Housing

"Plymouth Housing Group transforms lives by providing permanent, supportive homes to homeless people with few other options for housing. Since 1980, we've been providing homes to the most challenged homeless adults in our community - those struggling with disabilities such as mental illness, HIV/AIDS, severe medical conditions, chemical dependency, and the effects of poverty and aging.

Today, over 1,000 formerly-homeless adults live in 12 Plymouth residential apartment buildings in the downtown Seattle area. Another 600 have found a home in Seattle/King County through Plymouth’s Shelter Plus Care Program (a federal housing program Plymouth administers for King County)."

Give 2 Girls

"Announcing the Give 2 Girls Campaign We are committed to improving the lives of women and girls around the world. To jumpstart this investment in their future, we are partnering with CRAVE and a group of women-owned businesses who have created a fund that will match the first gifts made to women’s development projects on Jolkona, dollar for dollar, up to $2,000.

We all have the ability to help make an impact in the lives of women and girls in our own community and around the globe. We all can celebrate International Women’s Day by looking beyond where we’re at today and think about where we want to be tomorrow."

LiveGLOCAL

"‘GLOCAL’ is defined as: ‘thinking globally and acting locally’- this is our brand and our mission. We are in business to foster and inspire the creation of good in our world. We achieve this through our social business model: With each bag [of liveGLOCAL coffee] purchased, we give one book to a child in need. Since we began one year ago, we have gifted 2,800 books to 2,800 children in Laos. We have 2,200 new books to deliver to 2,200 children upon our next return and this number grows larger each day.

Since November 2009, liveGLOCAL fundraisers have helped 23 different organizations fundraise more than $55,000 for their own individual causes. We have established an alliance with the American Cancer Society and Future Business Leaders of America and will be aiding their organizations fundraising efforts."
